Pausewell helps you spend less time on distracting apps. We take that seriously enough that we don't want your data either. Everything Pausewell does happens on your own device — there is no server, there are no accounts, and we cannot see your data.
To block the apps you choose and show a verse when you open one, Pausewell uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. This needs your permission to know which apps you've selected. Apple's framework is designed so that this information is used only on your device — it is never sent to us or anyone else, and we have no technical way to see it.
Pausewell saves the following in your device's local storage. None of it is transmitted anywhere:
All of this is deleted when you uninstall the app. We keep no copy and cannot retrieve it.
If you turn on the daily verse reminder, Pausewell schedules a local notification on your device. The verse text is put together on your phone from the app's built-in list. No notification data is sent to or through any server, and Pausewell does not use remote or push notifications.
The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read your current streak and today's verse from a private storage area shared between the app and the widget on your device. This never leaves your phone.
Pausewell does not ask you to create an account, does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites. If this ever changes — for example, optional cloud backup of your streak — this policy will be updated first and you will be asked for consent where the law requires it.
Pausewell offers an optional paid tier, Pausewell Premium. Purchases are handled by Apple's App Store and by RevenueCat, which we use to manage subscription status.

Pausewell is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Because Pausewell does not collect personal data at all, the risk here is low. If you have a concern, contact us using the details below.
Because Pausewell stores nothing on a server, there is no remote data for us to provide, correct, or delete — it all lives only on your device, under your control. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. Where you have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws, they are satisfied by this on-device model; you can still contact us with any question.
If Pausewell's data practices change — cloud sync, accounts, analytics, and the like — this policy will be updated, and where required by law you will be notified or asked for consent before the change takes effect.
